RADIO has released and Himesh has moved to his next film. First Look of KAJRAARE, which Himesh describes as a totally commercial entertainer, is out and the actor-composer-singer is positive that the film will explore a huge mainstream audiences for itself.
"Promotion of KAJRAARE has kick started and there is going to be a good marketing campaign around. From a core multiplex film like RADIO, I am moving on to an out and out commercial outing like KAJRAARE. It would be great to enter into a different space now", says Himesh who is happy that this time around, critics were kind to him when it came to his acting capabilities; something that he was really longing for ever since his debut effort AAP KAA SURROOR hit the screens two years back.
"I had always maintained that in each of my subsequent films, there would be a growth as an actor. I knew in my heart that I would be able to win over that miniscule percentage of critics and audiences who were in doubt whether Himesh was serious about his acting career. Now, when RADIO has fetched me good acceptance as an actor, I can confidently state that it is a new beginning for me as a performer", says Himesh.
RADIO may not have worked in theaters Himesh and the makers of the film are undeterred. "For us, the most important point was to make the film for a niche audience and release it selectively. The profits were always there due to entire money being recovered from non-theatrical rights. This is why the additional numbers coming in from box office are satisfactory", says Himesh without any glimpse of disappointment.
Meanwhile, for Himesh personally it's his rise as an actor which is working as a soothing factor. He says, "RADIO was an intentional and well thought of step since I wanted to work in an experimental set up and prove myself as an actor. My director Ishaan Trivedi really helped me by arranging acting workshops for me."
Coming to KAJRAARE, the film would be seeing an early 2010 release. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, written by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by Pooja Bhatt.
