If things would have gone as per the plans, Ajay Chandok would have seen the release of his multi-starrer comedy KHALLBALLI - FUN UNLIMITED in the month of December. However, due to terror situation in Mumbai, the film's release was put on hold. Rightly so, considering other much anticipated releases like OYE LUCKY LUCKY OYE, SORRY BHAI and MAHARATHI couldn't do much as audience shied away from visiting theaters. Month of December became quite heavy after that with RAB NE BANA DI JODI and GHAJINI turning out to be monsters.
However, ever since then, there has been no news about the release plans for the film. Though the film had seen some good promotion all through September till November, it's a lull situation currently for this Nikhil Dwivedi and Sada starrer.
Quiz Ajay Chandok on what's happening around the film's release and he says with a shrug, ''Frankly, even I am clueless around the release plans. I am also waiting for KHALLBALLI to arrive at theaters. There was some good buzz around the film just before the plans changed for the release.''
Isn't it disappointing for him considering the fact that the film does seem promising and response to the promos had been quite positive?
''Of course it's quite disappointing. Even from the producer's standpoint, I am feeling bad since they spent close to 3 crore odd for the film's promotion. Yes, I am in touch with them but at the moment, they too are looking at the right slot for pitching the film. As a director, the maximum I can do is getting a film ready and hand it over to my producers. After that, they have to call.''
He ends on a positive note though. ''Its ok yaar, jo hai so hai! Cliched as it may sound but its all destiny. Everything happens for the good. The film is still fresh and I am sure it will be accepted whenever it will arrive at theaters.''
