V. Bhagnani: No Film will release in Multiplexes
February 19, 2009 7:02:17 PM IST Bollywood Trade News Network
After the decision of The Film Producers' Guild of India, the bodies representing the Indian entertainment industry, on the Bollywood releases stay in multiplexes, Mr. Vashu Bhagnani, Chairman - Puja Films and a very renowned producer has also come up firmly stating that there will not be any Bollywood release after DELHI 6 in multiplexes as multiplex owners demand imbalanced & unfair share in the profit of a movie.
Today in an interview he disclosed, ''The movies will release in multiplexes only after the settlement with the multiplex owners. Every time they demand an increased percentage of profit in films despite the increase in production cost and the global recession effect on entertainment industry. This year the Entertainment industry is expected to grow at just 7% where last year it was 12.3% and they are demanding every time more and more. This is incorrect, first we will settle down the profit sharing then only we will release any film in the multiplexes.''
The audiences are very much eager about the much awaited film KAL KISSNE DEKHA, being produced under the banner of one of the most prestigious production houses of Bollywood, Vashu Bhagnani's Puja Films. The film stars debutantes Jackky Bhagnani & Vaishali Desai, Rishi Kapoor and many big faces of Bollywood in cameos. Directed by Vivek Sharma, KAL KISSNE DEKHA was supposed to come to the theatres on 24th April 2009, but with this collaborated decision by producers might just not only lead to postponing KAL KISSNE DEKHA but all other big films also.
Mr. Vashu Bhagnani is also excited with the launch of his son and says, ''KAL KISSNE DEKHA is a romantic thriller film. It revolves around a small town boy named Nihaal Singh. With numerous dreams, he reaches to the buzzing Mumbai city wherein he faces ample number of hardships which he did not even imagined. The story depicts the adversity of this guy whose fate keeps him as an underdog. But no matter how big our project is, we will not release any film unless a fair settlement is done''
Jackky further added, ''I have worked hard for this movie and to keep my character upbeat. I have done a lot of adventurous stuff in my first movie like jumping of 730 feet; I am doing reverse bungee jumping ...many action pieces ...Its more of a younger film. KAL KISSNE DEKHA is a mega project whose entire responsibility is on my shoulders.''
