GHAJINI maker: Aamir is a better producer than me

The results are out. GHAJINI has taken a mind boggling opening at the box office with close to 65 crores coming after the first week run in India alone. Truly historic and seemingly difficult to be matched for many more months to come, the opening has created monumental records.
'There were quite a few ideas that were thrown around and we had creative discussions with all stakeholders coming together and making a decision. It was a great collaboration and we don't even want to think on the lines of who suggested which idea. In any case, during film making, it is very difficult to pinpoint on an individual's specific idea and claim that it was the one that got the movie through. What worked most was that Aamir was closely involved with marketing. I can safely say that Aamir is a better producer than me', says Madhu Mantena, one of the producers of GHAJINI.
'We were also fortunate to have country's best technicians on board. So many people came together to make GHAJINI it currently is. Whether it was Ravi Chandran's interpretation around lighting or Rahman's music - all of it had to work in coordination with each other. Of course, since Murugadoss had already made the film earlier, he had the best idea about where GHAJINI was headed. He used to take the final call on all aspects', he adds.
Nevertheless, while Aamir Khan is THE factor that has made the film reach this far, credit also needs to go to the makers and the marketing team that enabled the film to achieve such feat.
