After a hardcore drama JANNAT which proved to be a superhit at the box office, Emraan Hashmi promises that his next RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES will raise the bar for horror flicks. Not just would it give Indian audience something to see on the big screen that has never been witnessed before for a Bollywood flick, it would also scare the living daylights of all in the auditorium.
"That's true, there are number of visibly disturbing scenes in RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES", confirms Emraan, "They are quite graphic and scary. In fact we are going for a U/A certificate for the film. The kind of stuff that you would see in the film is something that has never been attempted before in a Hindi feature film."
There would certainly be some reference points for getting the scare factor on, right?
"See, both Mohit Suri, the film's director and I have been huge fans of horror movies that are being worldwide. There are some film makers out there who have mastered the art of horror. If you look at some Japanese and Korean films, you would know for yourself that how far they have gone in the art of storytelling; they have really mastered it."
He concludes while stating that RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES has retained its Indian flavor, "Though there has been a lot of international cinema centered on horror genre, at the heart of it all, our film is truly Indian. We have done a lot on research on the horror beliefs in the country; about spirits and all and incorporated them to make our film a lot more authentic and believable."
