Neetu Chandra, who had a decent 2008 with the success of OYE LUCKY LUCKY OYE and ONE TWO THREE, thought that in year 2009 she would return to her first love, albeit for a short duration. And before you start wondering who is being talked about, the first love in case of Neetu Chandra is ''sports''!
As is a known fact, this girl from Patna has been quite a sportsperson in her growing up years. A black belt holder in Taek-won-do, she has represented India in International Taek-won-do Championship at Hong Kong in 1996 and also in World Korfball Championship in 1995 at New Delhi. A national games Silver Medal winner in Taek-won-do, she is also pretty passionate about basketball.
No wonder, the moment she came to know about a basketball match being played, she immediately got into a car with her mother and drove all the way to the venue. So what's the big deal about this visit? Well, nothing except the fact that the match was being played all the way in Surat and Neetu instinctively decided to travel for as many as 10 hours (for the to and fro journey) to cheer the teams.
"It was just the revival of first love I guess", winks Neetu when questioned if this indeed was true, "Being a sportsperson, I couldn't resist being away from a game of basketball for long. The moment I got to know that a match was being played between Tamil Nadu and Railways, I just picked up my belongings that I needed for the day, asked my mom to accompany, drove down and came back on the same day."
Trust the celebrities to indulge into their passion every once in a while in spite of their hectic/erratic schedules.
