Just last month we brought to you the news about Shahid Kapur learning a new international dance form, Krumping, for Ken Gosh's YAHOO, opposite Jiah Khan. We had also told you that the choreographer of the dance based film is Marty, who has also worked for Justin Timberlake. Well, here is the latest on that front.
Two NRI girls from Los Angeles, Shivani Thakker and Sapna Rohra, have been chosen by an internet contest to become a part of two dance numbers opposite Shahid Kapur in Ken Gosh's YAHOO. The contest, known as "Bollypop Dance Contest" was held by an American web based company and its main objective was to find two proficient dancers, who will shake a leg with Shahid for two songs in the film. Shivani and Sapna are already professional dancers who took part in various stage performances in the US and are excellent in all sort of dance forms, right from Bharatnatyam to Hip - Hop and Jazz.
The girls have already shot for the two songs. One song has them sharing solo screen space with Shahid while the other song has Shahid and Jiah Khan along with them. The songs were choreographed by Marty Kudelka, choreographer of music videos of the likes of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Janet Jackson.
When asked about what made them win the contest, the two very happy girls said, "May be it was our dance style which resembled the one adopted in the film by Marty for Shahid, which won us the contest".
The two girls are in India for a 20 day dance schedule where they participated in the shooting of the two songs. They said that working with Shahid was a good experience and since Shahid is already an excellent dancer, there was much to learn from him.
