Reviewers may have gone ballistic thrashing CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA but Nikhil Advani and Co. are awaiting audience reactions to gauge the eventual performance of the film. Also, even though quite a few of the critics have pointed out certain unbelievable elements in the film and gone ahead dissecting them, Nikhil has a different point of view.

"CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA has to be treated as a fable. That's the essence of the storyline, something that is akin to 'dada dadi ki kahaani' that we used to hear around us as kids. Still, I don't think I have left anything to imagination to make it sound like overtly mythical. Things have been explained as and where required", says Nikhil.

There are quite a few dialogues in Chinese in the film.

"Ya, we knew that due to this there could be some confusion but that has been tackled by adding subtitles. However, we didn't do it for each and every spoken dialogue intentionally because action speaks for itself there. And then there was always Deepika's 'Multi Language Translator' to help us out wherever necessary. This is a wonderful narrative trick that Sridhar (Raghavan) - the writer - has used. It does help the audience understand anything critical being spoken around in Hindi", smiles Nikhil.

He also reveals the identity of the man behind the voice that acts as 'sutradhar' in the film and also helps audience understand anything that gets missed out due to spoken language being Chinese.

"He is none other than Ramesh Sippy himself", informs Nikhil, "We requested him if he could come on board and he was generous enough to agree. He being a producer here helped. His voice remains with the film from beginning till the end."
