Ever since the first stills of KAMINEY, showing a six pack and long haired Shahid Kapoor running in front of a pack of horses was unveiled, there were talks that Shahid is going in for a new look in the upcoming Vishal Bhardwaj's film. The first proper new look of Shahid was evident in the promos of its rocking track, "Dhan Te Nan".
Shot in an actual pub, the song has about 250 extras to get it that authentic feel. The excellent picturisation showing a lean mean, slightly unkempt Shahid swaying to the intoxicating beats of the Oscar winner Gulzar written composition. It proves beyond doubt that the JAB WE MET star has finally broken away from his chocolate boy image. It may have upset a lot of his young female fans but hey, even they are loving his new look, and that is a win for the team of Vishal and Shahid!
Many stars in the past have become a prisoner of their own set image (Kumar Gaurav was one such example) and realizing this, Shahid has cleverly tried to shed his image and who better than maverick director Vishal Bhardwaj to fall back upon! We all remember his image and look makeover for Saif (aka Langda Tyagi.).
While on KAMINEY, the music album of the film is all set to release on 6th July, and going by the response to its first song, it will surely turn out to be a winner!
