JOHN ABRAHAM & BIPASHA BASU
It has been close to a fortnight since the release of NEW YORK but accolades are continuing to come in for John Abraham. The film being all set to be his biggest money spinner till date, John Abraham is indeed happy, what with this Kabir Khan directed dramatic thriller being his second success in a row after DOSTANA. What also makes the film special for John is the fact that his Bipasha Basu loved the film and appreciated his performance.
'She is otherwise extremely critical of my films and especially my performances', says a relieved John, 'She has a knack of telling what the film is worth of by merely looking at its promos. In the past too she has predicted the box office performance of my films and has been cent percent right in her assessment. After seeing glimpses of NEW YORK, she told me that 'John, be ready to be appreciated.'
While this happened before Bipasha saw the film, it was time for her to be surprised when she saw the final cut. Apparently, she got so emotionally charged with the whole affair that she couldn't hold her tears.

'Yes, she did break down actually. During the now famous detention scenes, she couldn't control herself. However, her favourite portions from the film are not those where I play a terrorist. Instead, she feels that the most difficult piece of acting for me would have been at the points where I had to play the role of a family man. He was shown to be so involved with his wife and kid in spite of carrying on with his terrorist activities. I seem to agree', he says.
Apparently, Bipasha had good things to say about Neil, Katrina and Irrfan as well.
'She felt that each and every actor was just superb in the film. For her, NEW YORK is a complete package affair where everything just fitted in so beautifully', he concludes.
