Pankaj Advani, the director of Seven Entertainment Ltd. and Moser Baer's SANKAT CITY, which released last Friday, is a happy and relieved man. The reason, well easy enough to guess- His latest release has come in for a lot of praise from the critics and the audience too seems to have taken a liking for this unusual sugar coated black comedy, that does not boast of superstars, but definitely has some (as many as ten!) super actors. The film which saw a dull opening on Friday has picked up gradually by positive word of mouth and a perceptible increase in collections was seen during the weekends.
When we asked Pankaj about his reaction to the positive response of the critics and the audience, the talented director said, ''Reviews have been kind, the word-of-mouth is good, resulting in a few shows being increased from today (Tuesday). A bigger increase in shows is expected from next week if all goes well. Overwhelmed by the audience response. Strange show timings, sometimes even rain hasn't deterred them from coming to the theatres. Keeping my fingers crossed.''
Indeed Pankaj, a good product always sells and with SANKAT CITY you have shown that hard work never goes unnoticed. Here's hoping that the film holds up and your hard work pays.
