Ruslaan Mumtaz lived up to the title of his upcoming film TEREE SANG when it came to working with Sheena Shahabadi. He was there all the time for his teenage co-star on sets and helped her refine her performance.
"TEREE SANG being her first film, Sheena would sometimes get stuck with a scene that would lead to retakes. Sometimes she would become really nervous. The same used to happen to me as well when I would get stuck but since I had a film behind me (MP3 - MERA PEHLA PEHLA PYAAR); I knew that it was all normal. Due to this I was a little more relaxed", remembers Ruslaan who has also worked on MASTANG MAMA and JAANE KAHAN SE AAYI HAI since finishing work on TEREE SANG which releases all over on 7th August.
"This is when I used to have a chat with her and told her that since TEREE SANG was her first film, she had to make sure that she had to get satisfied with nothing but the best. I discussed with her that it was okay to ask for another retake herself if she felt that she could deliver better. Some film makers do not like that but with Satish Kaushik, it was fine since he is a chilled out director", details Ruslaan.
A word of advice from a co-star and a friend like Ruslaan apparently eased out Sheena and she started feeling a little more relaxed on the sets.
"That's the way it should be", he smiles, "In fact why just her scenes, even for some dialogues if we felt that the lingo wasn't really the kind that belonged to today, we felt free to approach Satish-ji. Since the film is about kids of today, dialogues had to be fresh and going with current times. We both improvised as we moved ahead with the film's shoot."
