SHEENA SHAHABADI, KATRINA KAIF and BIPASHA BASU
Her first film is yet to be released but debutant Sheena Shahabadi is already feeling extremely confident. And there is a reason for that. After all she has managed to dub for her own lines in the film, a feat that is rarely accomplished by actresses who are just starting out and especially those who are barely out of their teens.
"Yeah, even I had been hearing for over the months that how newcomers generally struggle to get it right during the dubbing. Honestly speaking, even I wasn't too sure and was quite apprehensive while entering the dubbing studios. My mom kept me motivated though while Satish (Kaushik) Sir too gave me enough confidence to come behind the mike", says Sheena who has waited for two years to see her dream project up there on the silver screen.
Tell her than even top stars like Katrina Kaif and Bipasha Basu have had their lines dubbed by professional dubbing artists at the beginning of their career and she just smiles, "Arrey, they are so senior and have been in the industry for long. It would be unfair to bring in any comparison whatsoever. There could be so many reasons why there was another woman required to dub their voice; you never know. For me it was imperative though that I dub my own lines since we all felt that no one else would be able to justify the voice and thoughts of a 15 year old character that I play in the film."
She is happy though with the trust shown in her that led to fantastic results.
"Seriously, I have lived this character for so long that I didn't even have to look at my lines while dubbing. I was plain and simple 'Maahi' and just mouthed dialogues in the way she would have", signs off Sheena.
