For perhaps the first time in the history of Bollywood cinema, a lead protagonist would be having three of his films release on the same day. The actor in question is Anupam Kher who would be seen in three films - MORNING WALK, PERFECT MISMATCH and SANKAT CITY, all of which are releasing on 10th July.
A veteran of close to 300 films, Anupam Kher would be enjoying a triple bill as he would be seen in films as diverse as these. In MORNING WALK he plays the role of a professor, who after living on his own in Kolkata, moves in with his son in Mumbai. Life takes a turn for him as he comes across his ex-student (played by Sharmila Tagore) during one of his morning walks. Supposed to be a poignant tale of human relationships, MORNING WALK sees Kher as the central protagonist.
In the comic thriller SANKAT CITY, Anupam Kher is said to be a scene stealer in the role of 'Faujdaar'. When KK Menon, Chunky Pandey, Rimi Sen and Dilip Prabhawalkar get on the wrong side of Faujdaar, a vicious gangster/loan shark, life is never the same again for them in this directorial debut by Pankaj Advani.
The third film PERFECT MISMATCH sees Anupam Kher in the role of a hyper-vibrant man called Bhalla who locks horns with Patel [Boman Irani]. Both Kher and Irani are hilariously different individuals and woefully mismatched. Playing the respective fathers of love birds Anubhav Anand and Nandana Sen, they lock horns and vehemently oppose the match, only turning out to be a mismatch themselves! The film is touted to be a hilarious romantic comedy.
With these three films, it seems like a clear record for Anupam Kher and it has to be seen if this feat eventually makes an entry into the Limca Book of World Records at the least.
