Even though JAIL is almost complete and work has begun on post production, rumour mongers have been continuing to have a field day. Just as has been the case of majority of Madhur Bhandarkar films in the past, rumours have continued to fly around the last minute addition to the cast of the film. This time around it's the name of Tabu that has cropped up and though it had seemed that the rumour would die its natural death, that hasn't been the case.
"I am amazed with the manner some people operate", says Madhur in a resigned tone, "I have absolutely no clue how did Tabu's name come into picture this time around. It was being said that her coming into the film for a few scenes was a patch up of sorts. What patch up are people talking about when there was no trouble in the first place?"
Over the years it has been said that ever since CHANDNI BAR became popular, Madhur and Tabu were at the loggerheads since both believed that they were responsible for the film's success and acclaim.
"Rubbish", says an exasperated Madhur, "None of us tried to hog limelight at the expense of the other. We didn't work together again because nothing suitable came in. However, we have always been in touch. There was never any bad blood and now when her name comes up for JAIL, I am just left amused. Arrey bhai, the picture is complete so from where do I incorporate something new in it for the sake of it?"
Starring Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mugdha Godse and Manoj Bajpai in principal roles, JAIL would be releasing in the last quarter of 2009.
