Big B has been showered with degrees, dusky dame Shilpa Shetty too has managed to grab one and now reportedly Shah Rukh Khan will boast of this much-eyed honour. Joining league of stars, whose kitty is full of doctorate degrees from esteemed universities, King Khan is the latest to be bestowed with a doctorate in Arts and Culture at the University of Bedfordshire, UK.
Known for his razor sharp wit and charming ways, SRK is making news for all the right reasons this time round. The ace actor's efforts in the field of arts and culture will be recognized, in a much-hyped ceremony on July 10.It is believed that the ceremony will be held at Hotel Courthouse, London, and Shah Rukh will receive the degree from Vice-Chancellor Les Ebdon. The official website of the university also states that the actor was nominated by Routes 2 Roots - an NGO that endeavours to bring together people, cultures and values from across southern Asia; in particular, India and Pakistan.
This isn't the first honour bestowed upon SRK by a country. Last year, he received the Malaysian title of Datuk, which is on the lines of receiving a British knighthood. The University of Bedfordshire has a huge population of Indian students and Shah Rukh has personally agreed to attend the event and receive the honour himself.
