A little less than two years after being seen on the big screen, Geeta Basra is back. She makes her debut in the music video of a song titled 'Ghum Sum' that is sung by Sukshinder Shinda and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Though the video is yet to come on air officially, it is already being streamed freely in the world of internet.
What makes this video special is the fact that it showcases Geeta in a new light altogether. From her simple T-Shirt-Jeans clad girl act in DIL DIYA HAI to a seductress in THE TRAIN, she has moved on to being truly ethnic in 'Ghum Sum' which shows an Indian side of her that has been hitherto unexplored.
''This was the real reason for me to be doing this video. After a long time I am coming back on screen and the promise that I had made to myself was that whenever I would come back, it had to be in style'', says Geeta who agreed to be a part of this video after much deliberation.
''As an actor it's my job to change avtar regularly'', says Geeta, ''In 'Ghumsum', audience will see me in a totally different look. The video shows a new persona of mine and I want to surprise people by playing different characters with different looks in each outing of mine. I don't want to get stuck on just one thing.''
Directed by Colossus, the outfit run by video directors Ajay and Lovel Arora, the video which stars Rahul Bhatt [NAYEE PADOSAN] as the male lead has a lavish appeal to it with a distinct Sanjay Leela Bhansali hangover. One look at the palatial mansion, wide canvas, rich colors and exorbitant costumes give a clear indication about 'Ghum Sum' being one of the most expensive videos that has been shot in the weeks gone by.
