CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA and BILLU

Despite the fact that year's most anticipated film CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA was severely battered by the critics and audiences all over Akki still has enough reasons to be joyous. As the Bollywood Golden Boy, Akshay Kumar, has turned up trumps at the International Box Office once again. The much-hyped CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA has grossed the most takings in the first quarter of 2009, compared to all other major Bollywood film releases of the year thus far.

CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA has broken $13,437,918 (£9,540,355.93) in the first quarter of 2009, compared to only $8,154,609 (£5,785,593.79) taken by Shah Rukh Khan starrer, BILLU.

CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA marked Warner Bros. Pictures' first ever Bollywood production and brought together two world superpowers - India and China - on one cinematic canvas, with filming taking place at locations such as the Forbidden City and Great Wall of China.
