Though DEV D's, Mahi/Mahie Gill, aka Paro may not have worked in too many films yet she has a mind of her own where it comes to choosing her favourites. And amongst the most admired and respected is Kay Kay Menon, her co-star in last Friday's release, GULAAL.
Kay Kay Menon may be essaying roles that project him as a bad, callous, egoistic and a headstrong person, but in reality he is just in contrast to what he portrays on screen. Mahie says during the shooting of GULAAL, Kay Kay was extremely supportive and went out of his way to help her and make her feel at ease. Never once did he show arrogance or tried to drive home the point that he was her senior. In fact, just to help her with her scenes and dialogues, Kay Kay used to be present on the sets even on the days when he was not required to shoot. And that says a lot about Kay Kay's helping nature.
Well, looks are indeed misleading and now we know why Kay Kay is one of the best talents that the Indian cinema has witnessed in recent times and producers need to experiment more with this versatile actor, who will prove to be good replacement for the mighty Om Puri in the future!
