His first film was a thriller - JOHNNY GADDAAR. His second film AA DEKHEN ZARA also belongs to the thriller genre while currently he is shooting for a dramatic thriller JAIL. Is 'thrill' going to be the middle name of Neil Nitin Mukesh in years to come?
Laughs Neil, ''Come on, I am not in an image building exercise out here. Moreover, I pretty much understand that just because I am good in one aspect, I can't continue exploring the same dimension of my acting capabilities film after film.''
He doesn't deny though that he is excited by thrillers even as an audience.
''Yes, I am excited with thrillers. Even when I revisit my own films, I like that excitement which comes with the thrills that unfold on screen. It's a genre that certainly excites me and also makes the actor in me go 'wow'. However, beyond that, I am not consciously making an effort to work only in thrillers. It is just happening that way'', justifies Neil.
He is happy though that with AA DEKHEN ZARA and JAIL, he will be able to move away from the negative shades that have been attached to him since the days of JOHNNY GADDAAR.
''I got away with multiple murders in JOHNNY GADDAAR but I may not be that lucky in each film of mine'', winks Neil, ''Luckily my upcoming films don't see my character with negative shades otherwise I would have been labeled as a bona fide villain by now.''
