13B released three weeks back and saw good critical acclaim coming its way along with some decent moolah. Any director in place of Vikram Kumar (who was at the helm of affairs for 13B) would have immediately jumped on to direct another thriller as a follow up to 13B. However, the film maker insists that he would rather experiment with genres than stick to a successful formula.
''There are so many stories that I want to tell. I want to make a love story, a film for children, another one which is hardcore action. Basically I want to experiment with different formats and currently there are a lot of ideas that are bubbling in my mind'', says Vikram.
In the current market scenario, how is he looking at mounting his films?
''See, with the current recession, you have to be smart. Honestly, it is not fair to make a movie which is really big in budget. You have to come out with a strong content so that recovery becomes possible'', Vikram makes an obvious statement.
Currently he has set his heart in making an action film within a moderate budget.
''Yes, mostly likely it is going to be an action 'masala' fare next. I want to talk about good guys and bad guys; it has been a long time since we saw something like that. Then I want to put liberal masala ingredients in it since I want as many people as possible to watch the film. I guess it is a far bigger challenge to make a film belonging to such genre than something like 13B'', reflects Vikram.
