Sujoy clarifies: Abhishek is the pillar behind ALADIN

'Amitabh Bachchan doesn't want to work with Abhishek' - screamed a few headlines after taking cue from a post that Sujoy Ghosh had put on his blog earlier this week. While Sujoy had simply narrated the story about earlier days of ALADIN when Amitabh Bachchan was apprehensive about getting Abhishek on board in the role of 'Aladin' since he felt that they were already doing a few films together, a segment of media was having a field day by bringing in its own interpretation of the story.
''Interpretation? I would say it was a complete misinterpretation. All Sir wanted was that I cast a fresh face for the role of 'Aladin'. He was being totally professional and unbiased and that's all I wish to convey now'', says Sujoy who never calls Amitabh Bachchan by his name and always refers to him as Sir.
''And Sir he is for a reason. Think of it, hypothetically speaking if I was in his place (which can never be the case by the way), the first thing I'd have asked was to cast my son as 'Aladin'. But not Sir. And that's the very reason why I refer to him as Sir'', Sujoy gets emotional here.
In fact Sujoy goes on to attribute Abhishek as a major pillar behind ALADIN.
''Apart from the script, if there was anything else which may, and could, have influenced Sir in doing ALADIN, it's definitely Abhishek's insistence and conviction. It was he who said - 'You write a kickass script for the film and I guarantee you that dad will do it. Also, if you don't find a producer, I will produce it for you''', reveals Sujoy.
