While making their adult film about mature relationship, THE UNFORGETTABLE, little did the director duo of Arsala Qureishi and Sabrina Louis know that one day their work would be endangered and there would be a hate campaign against them.

Says Arsala who is in state of shock after receiving hate mail/comments from certain fractions of society after THE UNFORGETTABLE came into limelight.

''Intrepidly I made this film, not once thinking about the clear and present danger, but now I guess I have to fear'', says Arsala in a voice that is almost a whisper, ''Some pockets of society believe that I should be punished for being a 'Muslim Girl' and making a bold film like the THE UNFORGETTABLE.''

CHECK OUT: THE UNFORGETTABLE doesn't have a happy ending

''They think that I should follow the religious diktat of Islam and their skewed knowledge and arrested moral comprehension of it by sitting at home veiled, devoid of any sentiment, in servitude to my man, my world and every action of mine should bear a shroud of subservience to him and only him, my 'Husband Almighty''', she adds in an amused tone.

''Little do these radical fundamentalists know that the world of Art and Cinema has one master ''FREEDOM''. So I am throwing caution to the wind and empowering myself now and forever to express my freedom. For this I need audience's support'', appeals Arsala, ''I need sensitive thinkers and compassionate people to be by my side so when the wave of hatred and enslavement tries to touch me, it will have to turn an ocean against it.''

Pitched as a film about two extreme characters (played by Raji James and Sofia Hayat), THE UNFORGETTABLE is touted as a film that defies rules and stereotypes. While the man completely believes in control of all desires, the woman feels that one should just surrender to the desires if need arises.

Screened at The Berlin Film Festival last year, THE UNFORGETTABLE is aiming for an 8th May release in India.
