R. Madhavan -Neetu chandra starrer 13B is continuing to go places. The supernatural thriller, which has done decent business at the box office and has opened well on home video circuit as well, is now fast becoming the flavour of the Film Festivals. It is now an official selection at the 12th Shanghai International Film Festival which would be held from 13th to 21st June.
Says Madhavan in an elated tone, ''This is indeed turning out to be a phenomenal run for the movie. When the film had opened in theaters, there were a few detractors who were not too sure that the storyline and treatment, as evidenced in 13B, would be accepted. Now that the film has done well in India across Hindi and Tamil language, it is also going overseas. That's terrific and I am looking forward to how it wins international audiences once it is screened in the festivals.''
The event is said to be one of the foremost festivals in Asia which draws 300,000 audiences every year. To top it all, Danny Boyle, the Oscar winning director of SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, has been roped in to head the jury.
Released in India on 6th March, the film has already completed a 50 days run in both Hindi and Tamil version. With debutant director Vikram K. Kumar at the helm of affairs, 13B is a unique thriller in the offering as it features spirits interacting with human beings by using a TV set as a medium.
