Though Akshay Kumar's last film with Nikhil Advani, CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, turned out to be a losing fare, the superstar has come out strongly in his director's favour. Akshay says that despite flops he was given a second chance by some of his directors, so there was no question of not teaming up with Nikhil Advani again. He called Nikhil Advani a talented director, adding that a film does not flop only because of the director!

CHECK OUT: Akshay-Katrina stranded?

As may be recalled, there was news in a section of the media that after the failure of CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, Akshay Kumar had turned down Nikhil Advani's next venture, 1979, based on the London riots of the same year. Getting on to specifics Akshay disclosed that work was going on the script of the film and he was definitely considering it.

Well, that should clear up the matter and here's looking forward to 1979 and hoping for a triumphant Akshay-Nikhil pairing this time around!
