Little did the macho hunk Akshay Kumar foresee, that a mere publicity stunt at the recently held Lakme Fashion Week, would stir such a massive controversy. Being the brand ambassador of Levi's ''Unbuttoned'', he felt that he wasn't being dirty when he thrust his pelvis, to ask partner in crime wife Twinkle Khanna to unbutton his jeans in full public view, but that ensued in a joint complaint against the couple that was filed.
Defending his 'obscene unbuttoning act' bashed by the moral brigade of the country, Akshay now reportedly lived up to his moral obligation as he dutifully appeared at the Vakola Police Station in suburban Mumbai on Monday morning for his awaiting arrest, where he was released on bail under section 294 of Indian Penal Code.
The daredevil actor had a rare fight up his arm this time round. Raising many eyebrows, he is busy paying a heavy price for something done in zest and haste. Taking offence, an activist Anil Nair had filed a case against the couple. Reports doing the rounds suggested that not only him but his better half Twinkle Khanna was also thrown in the line of fire, when she was arrested earlier and released on bail under the same charges. But Akshay's arrest was awaited, as he was busy shooting for a TV show in South Africa for the last one month.
Nevertheless, with his return back home on Sunday night, the honest actor buttoned up his pending arrest.
