Madhur Bhandarkar has made eight films in his career so far but JAIL has been the quickest to shoot so far. This Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer is now close to 75% complete after its shooting kick started in mid-March. With three to four months being reserved for the post production of the film, JAIL would be ready for release by September/October.

Since Madhur would be ready with JAIL in less than three months since it came on floors, is it one of his quickest shoots ever?

''Not one of the quickest shoots but THE quickest shoot ever'', corrects Madhur, ''Never before have I aimed at completing a film so fast. We had embarked on a start to finish schedule on 12th March and are already around 75% through. By end of May, we would have our entire shooting wrapped up.''

CHECK OUT: No good-luck for Neil Mukesh

''Even if it takes us three or say at maximum four months to work on post production, the film would be ready for release in September/October time frame. I have to keep the ongoing strike in mind though because that would result in quite a few other films in the pipeline to arrive first. Once the backlog is cleared, I will bring on JAIL'', Madhur reveals the release plans about his film that stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Manoj Bajpai and Mugdha Godse in principal roles.

JAIL is a hard-hitting yet sensitive tale of an ordinary man Parag Dixit [Neil Nitin Mukesh] who finds himself inside the four walls of a prison due to a series of unfortunate events around him. As per Madhur, 'the film is from Parag's point of view and also tells the stories of several other inmates. Some of these are under trials, convicts and also the cops who are in charge of maintaining order in the prison.'

Shot primarily in and around Mumbai, JAIL promises to be a hard hitting affair with a thrilling drama in the offering. The film is a co-production of Percept Picture Company and Bhandarkar Entertainment.
