All those who were overwhelmed by the on-screen portrayals of the father-son duo Amitabh Bachchan & Abhishek Bachchan, get ready for yet another outing! After having enthralled the Indian audiences while sanctioning infidelity in KJo's KABHI ALVIDA NAA KEHNA or in RGV's slick, fast-paced entertaining SARKAR series, the pa-beta jodi are now all set to go international.
Reports doing the rounds suggest that French director Jan Kounen, maverick at bringing the spiritual world to the screen, has Big B and Junior Bachchan on his wish list for his next project THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE DALAI LAMAS & is soon headed to India hoping to pull off a casting coup of sorts. American beauty Sharon Stone will step in as the narrator, while Hollywood heartthrob Richard Gere will also be involved with the project.
The director is said to be impressed at how the duo use slices of their own life to give the celluloid relationship a touch of the real.
Tracing the history of the Dalai Lamas all the way from the 14th century, along with a blend of dramatized re-enactments with excerpts from an interview with the current Dalai Lama, this film will be virtual pilgrim to be shot later this year in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the Indian subcontinent. It will be ready for release in the second half of 2010.
Having said that the father-son theme has gripped audiences all over, this forthcoming venture seems to be a cinematic feat of sorts, because for the first time in the history of Indian cinema the father son duo will make a mark on the international arena.
