KAL KISSNE DEKHA, KAMINEY and KAMBAKKHT ISHQ

KAL KISSNE DEKHA, KAMINEY and KAMBAKKHT ISHQ

Ok, so it's confirmed. There won't be a single notable release at least till the 1st week of July, what with no resolution round the corner for the current stand off between producers and multiplexes. The mathematics is simple. Even if the strike is called off today (hypothetically speaking), the only film for which promotion is currently on is KAL KISSNE DEKHA. Which means that this Jackky Bhagnani and Vaishali Desai musical thriller would be the sole prestigious film in weeks to come (most likely in 2nd or 3rd week of June).

However, the bad news is that there is no other movie for which promotion is on air except for PAYING GUESTS. This film too would need a sustained promotion for at least 4 weeks though, considering the kind of budget involved. Due to this reason, a June end release for PAYING GUESTS too looks unlikely. Except for these two movies, there is absolutely no chance of any other biggie making it to the theaters since there hasn't been a single promo released of any forthcoming film on TV.

CHECK OUT: KAMINEY Movie Preview

This means that movies like KAMINEY, NEW YORK, LOVE AAJ KAL, JASHNN, KAMBAKKTH ISHQ, LIFE PARTNER and SHORTKUT - THE CON IS ON, all of which were otherwise all set to arrive in the first half of year 2009, would now have to go on the other side of the fence and release in July or later.

Does this give a breather of sort to certain smaller films that may like to take advantage of the available screens and rush their arrival into theaters? Well, sounds quite risky because even the smallest of films with some credentials deserves at least a month's promotion, something which looks impossible in the current scenario. So even if the strike is off today, it won't be fair on the part of producers to hush up the release of their films like SIKANDAR and TEREE SANG.

No wonder, Bollywood buffs are left cursing under their breath and hoping that the stalemate between the two parties is resolved soon.
