PVR Pictures brings Summit Entertainment to India

In one of its most ambitious ventures worldwide, PVR Pictures brings the prestigious international film studio, Summit Entertainment to India. Summit Entertainment's foray will mark theatrical release of blockbusters and critically acclaimed titles under the banner in India which so far has been restricted to home entertainment.

PVR Pictures has bagged exclusive Indian distribution rights of the films produced, co- produced and distributed by Summit Entertainment in other geographies. The release of the world-wide blockbuster TWILIGHT based on the best-selling series by American author Stephenie Meyer on November 20th, 2009 In India would officially mark Summit Entertainment's foray in the country. To add to the excitement for all THE TWILIGHT fans in India, NEW MOON - the much talked about sequel of THE TWILIGHT Saga will be releasing in India on December 4th this year within two weeks of its international release.

Summit Entertainment is a worldwide theatrical motion picture development, financing, production and distribution studio. The studio handles all aspects of marketing and distribution for both its own internally developed motion pictures as well as acquired pictures. Summit Entertainment, LLC also represents international sales for both its own slate and third party product. The company plans to release 10 to 12 films annually. In India, the slate of world-class releases planned by Summit Entertainment in association with PVR Pictures include KNOWING, PANDORUM, ASTRO BOY, BANDSLAM, SORORITY ROW, to name just a few.

Talking on the partnership, Sanjeev K Bijli, Joint Managing Director, PVR Ltd said "By joining hands with Summit Entertainment, we have yet again given an impetus to raising the bar to provide world class entertainment to India.
