PVR Pictures is proud to give BLUE - one of the most anticipated Bollywood blockbusters this season, the widest release in North India which the industry has ever witnessed. BLUE will be released with 237-238 screenings across Delhi-UP and E. Punjab and beats the record set by last year's hit GHAJINI that was released with 228 screenings in the same territory. BLUE's release in the North has surpassed the screen count that GHAJINI had achieved last year. While GHAJINI was a solo film in its release week with no competition till the next two weeks post its release, PVR Pictures has enabled BLUE to set a new benchmark in the Diwali weekend while there are two more big ticket releases lined up to give a tough competition.
Extending the distribution growth further, PVR Pictures is expanding its business in the South and has set up an office in Chennai on the eve of the release of Ajay Devgan-Bipasha Basu starrer ALL THE BEST along with managing the English film distribution in the territory.
PVR Pictures is distributing the underwater action thriller BLUE across Delhi, UP and East Punjab, while marking its foray into the South India markets with the distribution of ALL THE BEST across Tamil Nadu and Mysore.
Sanjeev K Bijli, Joint MD, PVR Ltd, commented, "BLUE is a promising film that deserved this kind of wide spread scale for its release and we would like to help a film achieve the best possible opening during this Diwali weekend. We are happy to expand our business opportunities in the South and have thus set up base in Chennai on the eve of ALL THE BEST release that we are distributing across Tamil Nadu and Mysore. This new business set up will also boost our English movie distribution efforts in the days to come."
