It was way back in 1993 when for the first time actor Sanjay Dutt was seen playing a baddie on-screen in filmmaker Subhash Ghai's film KHALNAYAK. The film was a superhit and Sanju Baba achieved superstardom with it. Till date the film is remembered for Dutt's impressive bad boy performance.
With that Cinegoers began to think Sanju would be the next big villain in Hindi Cinema however it couldn't happen so. Then years later, he again played a bad guy in 1999's blockbuster film VAASTAV - The Reality, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and was immensely loved. Sanju not only bagged the best actor award but also regained his lost glory. VAASTAV gave rebirth to Sanjay's sinking career. Nevertheless he received wide acclaim for his character with grey shades in the film, instead of continuing with the bad boy antics he went on to became the gold-hearted man MUNNABHAI.
And now with Sujoy Ghosh's ALADIN starring Big B, Riteish Deshmukh, debutante Jacqueline Fernandez alongside, Sanjay once again dons the bad- boy hat. But he plays a most unusual villain - 'Ringmaster', who is witty and funny. His presence in the narrative not just brings in the scares but also laces it with trademark Sanju baba humour.
Playing a crook on-screen always did wonders for our Sanju Baba, now it is to be seen what miracles ALADIN does for Sanju and whether he scores a hattrick with ALADIN or not, which releases on 30th October 2009.
