For Salman Khan, Eid celebrations will be certainly on a high note this time, what with his latest release, Boney Kapoor's WANTED off to a reasonably good start (despite Ramzan still on!) at the box-office. And with positive word of mouth by the audience and consistently good reviews (barring a few), it seems that with WANTED he has a winner at hands. And for that he must be thanking the almighty because if WANTED proves to be as fruitful as trade predicts, then it will certainly break the Eid jinx that haunts Salman Khan.
Well, do not be confused as we will tell you exactly what we mean by the Eid jinx. Not many will be aware that of late all the films starring Salman Khan that released during or in and around Eid have failed at the ticket window, for one reason or the other. Two most recent and prominent films that come to mind (to highlight our case) are Shirish Kunder's JAAN-E-MANN (2006) and Priyadarshan's KYON KI (2005). Both the films were much hyped but unfortunately they failed miserably, and did not even take a good opening. Even TUMKO NA BHOOL PAAYENGE that released way back in 2002 during Eid-ul-Azha flopped. So, even though quite a few Salman Khan starrers have recently released during the festive period of Eid, but never has it been a rewarding one for him.
However, it appears that this Eid will definitely be a 'meethi' for Salman Khan and he should (as things stand today) be able to break the Eid jinx and make a triumphant come back!
