HRITHIK ROSHAN and HARMAN BAWEJA
Has Harman Baweja finally got his due in the industry? This is what one firmly believes after watching him perform in this week's release WHAT'S YOUR RAASHEE? While the young man was widely criticized by quite a few after LOVE STORY 2050 and VICTORY flopped, the worse was when industry folks as well as 'aam junta' qualified him as a Hrithik Roshan clone.
But not any more!
During all this transition that Priyanka makes from one character to another, one has to acknowledge Harman's rise as an actor as he manages to keep his own self. Even though Priyanka keeps making an appearance in her different avtars, it is Harman who is seen in practically every single frame of the film. This could well have been a role of the lifetime for him and he does well in giving a good account of himself.
Welcome to an event called 'Harman ka swayamvar' where the young man meets 12 versions of Priyanka Chopra found in different space, setting, economic background and upbringing.
His simplicity and honesty shows while he is earnest throughout. His role belongs to the kind that requires him to 'react' more than 'act' and he does very well to never slip out of the character. As a simple boy who doesn't get into a 'dude' act, is a virgin, has a mix of new world and old fashioned views about his girl and marriage and could possibly qualify as a quintessential Prem from the world of Barjatyas, Harman is good with a dialogue delivery to match.
With audiences as well as critics acknowledging the contribution of the young man who has finally come on his own, Harman can well heave a sigh of relief. With acceptance as an actor coming in, it now has to be seen how far does the film manage to make an impression amongst the audiences.
