If you have seen WANTED, it would be difficult to ignore the character of 'Golden' who hires the services of Salman Khan as the contract killer in the film. The man in question was played by Asseem Merchant who was instantly noticed for his tough yet smart looks and managed to make an impression in film dominated by a dozen odd characters other than the lead protagonists.

''For me, it is very important to get success from here on. I have got noticed and now sky is the limit. May be I can say that I have got my due once I become much more recognizable within as well as outside the industry'', says Asseem Merchant who was last seen as the main villain in Emraan Hashmi and Geeta Basra starrer THE TRAIN.

CHECK OUT: Radhe proves lucky for Salman yet again!

Wasn't he worried that his presence in the film may get sidelined considering the fact that WANTED was an out and out Salman Khan starrer?

''On the contrary I wish to thank Salman Khan for being there'', he says, ''He was a pillar of support and encouragement throughout. He motivated me to give my best as most of my scenes were with him. I also went all out since in a Salman Khan movie, it is important to get noticed. My role had shaped out exactly the way it was narrated to me and thankfully the reviews too were positive.''

Asseem wants to take a slow and steady approach from here on rather than jumping on too many films.

''If I wished, I could have done so four years back when I debuted with BULLET'', says Asseem, ''Instead I waited for something like WANTED. It is crucial for me to do the right films. It has been a lot of hard work to reach here and I don't want to spoil that by picking up everything and anything that comes my way.''
