Jacqueline Fernandez a.k.a. Jackie has learnt the tricks of the trade and done so really fast. Today, as she dominates air space week after week with her film JAANE KAHAN SE AAYI HAI round the corner, her item number from HOUSEFULL (the remix version of APNI TO JAISE TAISE) also on air and the Pepsi commercial with Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor making an instant impression, Jackie talks about the far sexier persona that she has adopted for her latest outings.
"You need to understand your audience", says Jackie in response to the observation around the manner in which she has been presented in JKSAH, "I knew that JKSAH is for teenagers and young adults and while I was drawing the picture of this character in my mind, I was also thinking about the audience. As an actor, I am quite comfortable with my body. I know the distance that I have to go."
Stating an example, Jackie continues, "My entry scene in the film has me wearing a silver dress which is quite short. However, the way script described this scene, I knew that this dress would look cool and cute rather than vulgar. I never once thought that this outfit would end up looking raunchy. Even when I wore it on the sets, I didn't feel like being exposed."
In any case, one can well guess that vulgarity would be out of question since the film is also having its target audience as kids, isn't it?
"Right. Milap (Zaveri) can never be that kind of guy and as a director he can never allow something obscene to happen on his sets. In fact he is so concerned about the comfort of his actors that after every shot he would ask me if I was ok wearing a particular dress or delivering a dialogue. He would want me to check the shot after it was okayed by him. Moreover, Milap is such a sweetheart; even if he wants to, he can't be sleazy", concludes Jackie with a smile.
