Ever since the first look of PRINCE was revealed a few months, tongues had started wagging that it seemed to be 'inspired' from the Bourne series. After all just like the central protagonist of the Bourne films, even Vivek's character was shown to be suffering from a total memory loss.
As the new promos started airing on screen a couple of months back, the focus shifted from Bourne to Bond with gadgets being thrown around at every nook and corner. This was not all as the moment the 'coin' angle with a price tag of '50 crores' came in, there were speculations if PRINCE was getting into the KAANTE zone with a heist taking centre-stage. Also, the memory loss angle hinted of GHAJINI.
Reacts Vivek on these comparisons and speculations, "I could see all this coming as well for last few weeks but was confident all this while since PRINCE was always so different from these films. These were always misconceptions. PRINCE had nothing to do with any Bollywood or Hollywood film. Instead, this character finds himself in this all around nexus where he has six days to live in which he has to search for the key to his past which lies in that valuable item he stole. The clock is already ticking and in case he doesn't find that item, he is bound to die."
Now that the film has released, Vivek can afford to laugh, "We can see that PRINCE is unlike any of the films that you mention. In fact the major USP of the film is its unique story idea. Imagine someone who is the world's smartest thief and for whom even a seemingly impossible heist is easy; someone who can steal anything from anywhere. Now imagine again that what would happen to him if someone steals his memory?"
