After earning a National Award for himself for his bravura performance in ROCK ON, Arjun Rampal would be seen in a tangentially opposite film HOUSEFULL. The film is a comedy family entertainer and though Arjun is touted to be the sole straight faced guy in the film which is all set to be quite high on the humour quotient, one wonders if there was some kind of healthy competition brewing between him, Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh. After all when it comes to comic timing, actors like Akshay and Riteish have been known for doing quite well over the years.
"I won't call it as a competition actually", says Arjun negates the insinuation, "Instead, the entire approach towards making HOUSEFULL was done at a very professional level from day one itself. All credit to Sajid here because he made us all feel quite comfortable and made us do a lot of reading. I remember us packing up after work and coming back to his room and regroup there. We would read out scenes for the next day together. I have been around for quite a while now but seldom have I ever come across such a well knit unit where there is so much eagerness of coming into the same room and working for the next day. Honestly, I was surprised and this is what led to so much excitement."
Expectedly, he continues to talk fondly about his co-stars in the film. "Akshay and I have worked together in AANKHEN a few years back and I was really looking forward to working with him again. His whole timing is just so perfect and today, we all know that he is far more polished as an actor. As for Riteish, his comic timing is just brilliant. I am anyways friends with Boman for years now while Deepika is someone who has only progressed further since the time I did OM SHANTI OM with her. However, mark my words; it is Lara who is a huge surprise package with her comic outing in the film."
