Notwithstanding the fact that Arjun has enjoyed an upswing in his career, one can't deny the fact though that each of his successes has been a multistarrer. OM SHANTI OM and DON were led by Shah Rukh Khan while ROCK ON had at least one more major protagonist in the form of Farhan Akhtar.
Now HOUSEFULL would have Akshay Kumar as an anticipated scene stealer with Riteish Deshmukh breathing down his neck. RAJNEETI too has a plethora of talent around him in the form of Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor and Manoj Bajpai. Even STEPMOM, in spite of Arjun as the only male protagonist, is expected to be pitched as a film about Kajol and Kareena returning together years after KABHI KHUSHI KABHI GHAM.
Frankly, doesn't that make Arjun conscious of the fact that regardless of biggies in his kitty, even in-house, there would be quite some competition around in films to come?
Pat comes a reply, "I guess actors of today's generation have grown out of that stage. Tell me, how many solo starrers are being made today in any case? People want entertainment as a complete package and stories too have evolved to incorporate actors playing different characters rather than heroes. I don't think any actor would feel insecure about the presence of other actors. Cliched as it may sound but another actor in your film should never be looked at as competition. One should just observe whether your co-star comes with the required talent or not. If he/she does, then learn from that."
Next few weeks would now be extremely crucial for Arjun. While HOUSEFULL arrives at month end, RAJNEETI would release in June beginning.
