Neetu Chandra is aghast with still-persistent stories around a lesbian angle being given to the characters played by her and Tanushree Dutta in next Friday release APARTMENT. Though she along with other actors in the film as well as the makers have explained loud and clear over a period of time that the film is basically a dramatic thriller with a schizophrenia element thrown in, few media personnel have gone ahead and formed their own opinion around the alleged sex quotient in this Jagmohan Mundhra directed venture.
"APARTMENT is not a lesbian film at all. Period. Why is it believed that if two females live together, they are lesbians and when two guys are together, they are gays? Haven't we been brought up together with our brothers and sisters? I don't know what is wrong with some people. They should just relax rather than thinking around stuff like this", fumes Neetu who believes that there are far better things to be spoken about the film.
Well, since Neetu and Tanushree Dutta aren't exactly sisters in the film, there were speculations around the sex element coming into picture.
"That's quite strange as well", says Neetu while being truly amused, "Don't we have partners in hostels? Haven't we stayed as PGs at someone's place? Do we turn lesbians after a couple of years by doing so? Come on, we all have our priorities and preferences. The problem is a part of the industry and certain people want to see lesbians and gays on screen. However, just because you want to see something, you can't have your imagination run wild. After all, reality is not necessarily what you have in your mind."
