HOUSEFULL would be third film where Lara Dutta and Riteish Deshmukh would be sharing screen space. While in MASTI, Lara played a seductress who takes youngsters (Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani) for a royal ride, in DO KNOT DISTURB she fluctuated between Govinda and Riteish. The romance element has been missing in both the films though and same holds for HOUSEFULL as well where Riteish and Lara don't quite play a romantic couple.
"We wanted this pairing to be set up like this where they are more fun and goofy than all moony eyed", admits Lara, "When audience look at Riteish and I, they should feel that they too could be like us. The characters that we play are so adorable and I am glad we have been able to pull that off well for screen."
Talking about her long standing association with Riteish, Lara adds, "Riteish is so natural in front of the camera and has an inherent comic timing. With someone like him and Akshay, you have to go with the flow. It's not just about the written dialogue on a piece of paper. With them, you can pretty much anticipate that something new is definitely going to come your way in the middle of the shot."
Well, come 30th April and it would be there for the world to see how well have these actors pulled off this Sajid Nadiadwala production. With Lara admiring Akshay for his hard work and complimenting Riteish for his comic timing, it is just about time that male leads also start reciprocating the expectedly good act put up by the leading ladies of HOUSEFULL.
