She might be the face of many well know films that have been appreciated on the global scale. But, Seema Biswas, who will be seen in the upcoming film CITY OF GOLD, feels that Bollywood has let her down in many ways.

Seema dons a powerful character in the film CITY OF GOLD. She says, 'I have always wanted to do a film with Mahesh Manjrekar. When I heard about CITY OF GOLD, I was simply elated to get a chance to work with this genius man. You cannot escape from the touching tale of CITY OF GOLD which according to me is one of the most powerful films to have been made.'

Talk about her journey in bollywood after her national award winning performance in the film BANDIT QUEEN, the actress adds with a somber tone, 'I think the filmmakers in Bollywood never offered me anything that could match the intensity of my role in BANDIT QUEEN. May be it was because of the market forces that have taken over today's cinema or may be because they could never carve such strong characters in their films. But largely it's their loss in the end.'

CITY OF GOLD is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and releases on the 23rd April.
