Yash Raj Films' DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE (DDLJ) directed by Aditya Chopra released on 20 October, 1995 and ever since it has proved to be the longest running film in the annals of Indian cinema.

The film that completed 750 weeks in February this year will complete 800 weeks in February next year.

This news has set the authorities at the YRF in an upbeat mood. So much so, Yash Chopra, the man behind DDLJ, has decided to organize a mega celebration next February when the film achieves the distinction of running 800 weeks.

The celebration scheduled for February 2011, will either be held at Maratha Mandir or a five star hotel.

It may be interesting to note that Ramesh Sippy-directed SHOLAY ran for 286 weeks straight at the Minerva theatre Mumbai.
