Strange as our headlines may sound but the first weekend of Aamir Khan Productions' PEEPLI [LIVE] has about the same numbers as the first week total of the Abhay-Sonam starrer AISHA. Yes, while the final numbers are still awaited, PEEPLI [LIVE] has netted around 15.50 crores during its opening weekend, which is about the same as the first week total of AISHA!

CHECK OUT: PEEPLI LIVE Movie Review

However, we are not really surprised because things were working out in favour of PEEPLI [LIVE] for a while now. Even in the US PEEPLI [LIVE] has done wonderfully grossing $350,000, an astonishing figure for a starless film and still counting.

Well, there is no doubt that that the immense goodwill that Aamir Khan now carries has a lot to do with PEEPLI [LIVE]'s superb start, as without his name the film may well have been another also ran!
