For ace actor Aamir Khan Independence Day has a lot of meaning and it's the bright future of the country that he looks forward to but he feels that for India to progress we need to follow the principals of Gautam Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi.
Aamir, who has always stood for a cause, especially where it comes to doing something good for the country and its people like standing for the farmers' rights or supporting the victims of the Leh cloudburst tragedy, and has a very important message for the people. He says that we need to forgive and forget and not dwell in the past and instead of blaming the system for everything we should strive for a better tomorrow. He also suggested that we should not be rigid in our beliefs and learn to respect and listen to others only then we will know what is wrong and try to correct it or make them understand their mistakes. He said that forgiveness is better than hundred attacks.
Profound thought indeed from a highly intelligent and intellectual actor, the likes that we need to make India a more wonderful country.
(In fact, even as we are finalizing this piece, Aamir Khan is already at Leh's cloudburst ravaged Druk White Lotus School, extending a helping hand because there is where he shot for his 2009 blockbuster 3 IDIOTS)
