Arbaaz Khan is sure that after his debut production DABANGG, he would be looking at a long innings ahead when it comes to making films. Not quite content with brother Salman Khan's presence in the action entertainer ensuring good returns for him as a producer, Arbaaz also wants the film to succeed so that it gives ample returns for Salman to continue his superstar status.
"Salman has helped me by featuring in my very first production. That gives me a lot of reasons to be happy and excited. However, this is not good enough for me to be overtly elated for lifetime. I have to now see that how does DABANGG help Salman as well so that his stardom is kept intact."
What is also being shown to audience so far is the fact that DABANGG is an out and out Salman Khan starrer despite a dozen odd characters around him.
"But what's wrong in that," protests Arbaaz, "When you have a star and actor like Salman, why won't you tell his fans what to expect from him? Salman is in such an enviable stage today and his audience wants to see a wholesome film revolving around him. We have showed what the film is about and now want audience to go and enjoy it in theaters this Eid. Having said that, despite Salman being around, we have kept in mind all believable aspects. We haven't gone overboard or compromised with the storyline," details Arbaaz.
Though one may presume that DABANGG could well be treated as a family affair with everyone content with this effort turning out be a success, Arbaaz is actually looking at this as a brand building exercise.
"Once Salman came on board, it was my responsibility as well to see what do I bring to the table," explains Arbaaz, "Once I wear the hat of the producer, I have to not just benefit from my lead actor's star profile but also add value to his own self. If I don't do that, it is my loss, not his. He would just do the film for me and move on but I would have to start from scratch again. This is why I worked hard to ensure that DABANGG turns out to be one more feather in Salman's cap."
