As a first timer, Ranveer Singh had to rely in his own instincts more than anything else when it came to performing in front of the camera. However, one person whom he entrusted all his faith on when it came to a nod of approval, it was director Maneesh Sharma, who is himself a first timer.
"I guess the earliest reactions are the most important of all as they pave the way for future", opines Ranveer, "I had never faced a camera before and had mainly been an assistant behind it. I realized during BAND BAJAA BAARAAT that making cinema as an actor is a different ballgame altogether. There is so much of starting and stopping that one has to do. No wonder, I was always curious to know whether I was doing a good job or not. This is where Maneesh came in handy. I knew what I was doing but wanted Maneesh to make it doubly sure for me."
How does he look back at the entire experience now, more so because the promos have been generating good interest in the film?
"Honestly speaking, I have lost that objectivity to state anything on my own", Ranveer states his helplessness here, "I have seen everything transpiring right in front of me from the very inception of the film. I have been a part of the making of the film practically every day so how can I be expected to have an opinion. It's best to trust the feedback of that individual who hasn't been a part of the process. There has to be a third person's point of view, something for which I am eagerly waiting for now."
Well, we too are waiting for that Ranveer, what with the film releasing all over on 10th December.
