BREAK KE BAAD has added another feather in Shahana's cap. Even though she didn't have a lead role, her performance is being appreciated a lot.
Says an excited Shahana, "I'm happy that people have appreciated my character. It has got me visibility. I knew I was playing a small part in this film. But to me the film matters more. I gained a lot personally through BREAK KE BAAD. It is a Deepika and Imran film. I watch it with that thought more than I am in it. It is like being excited about your friend's work."
The 24-year-old actor further adds, "It's one of the films I have really enjoyed working in because I met some great people who became friends. It was nice to seen in a film with friends and improvising things with them."
The bond actually showed on-screen as well as Shahana and the other actors were enjoying doping the film. "Yes, you actually needed to be that close in the film as there were a lot of scenes where everyone is talking very quickly one after the other. Unless you are cued in to each other it's very difficult to get that. In our one month shoot one would think we would get sick of each other. But everyday we would do something relaxing together, like having dinner. That was a new experience for me and also very heart-warming."
Ask her why we don't get to see her in more lead roles and she says, "It's not that I don't get lead offers. I'm a little selective. There's no point in making a film that doesn't get viewed. Today, you have to be very careful. Visibility is a big thing when you are in a profession like acting. It's important to be in a film that has a buzz around. I don't want to do a lead just for the sake of it."
Shahana will next be seen in MIRCH which releases on December 10.
