The music of TEES MAAR KHAN is finding its way towards the top of the charts, what with the title song and 'Sheila Ki Jawani' already being hits, 'Walla Wallah' on air as well with 'Bade Dilwala' - which carries a true blue 'desi' flavour - releasing in a couple of weeks as well. One would have expected Vishal-Shekhar, who have already delivered chartbuster music in the form of ANJAANA ANJAANI and I HATE LUV STORYS this year, to be over the moon. However, they sound pretty composed even as 'Sheila Ki Jawani' is taking on 2010's biggest hit so far - 'Munni Badnaam' [DABANGG].
"We are not surprised because TEES MAAR KHAN always had a potential to go higher up, mainly because it has got a very strong Indian core to the story", says Vishal Dadlani, "Farah is superb when it comes to her music sense. She wanted a particular flavour for TEES MAAR KHAN and once we played on our compositions; she actually came up with instant decisions. We have experienced something similar in OM SHANTI OM as well where creation of music was a fun, hassle free and quick exercise."
2011 also sounds exciting indeed for Vishal-Shekhar because they have composed the music for the biggest film of the coming year - RA. 1.
Says Shekhar Ravjiani, "The beautiful thing about both TEES MAAR KHAN and RA. 1 is that soundtracks here required a lot of experimentation. They were supposed to be totally different from each other. While RA. 1 is sci-fi; TEES MAAR KHAN is earthy. We could afford to come up with completely different approaches for both the soundtracks and the response so far only makes the effort worth it."
