It will come a surprise to many that the lead actor of BAND BAAJA BARAAT, Ranveer Singh, is a born and bred Mumbaikar. And the reason is that from the promos and trailers of the film it appears that Ranveer is a hard core 'Dilli da Munda' (Delhi lad)!
In fact, all the credit for the amazing transformation of Ranveer from a Mumbaiker to a Delhi lad goes to the director of the film Maneesh Sharma. Ranveer recently disclosed that the director took him on a Recce to Delhi and left him to interact with the students of Delhi University from whom he learnt all the mannerisms and the local dialect of the place. He added that he had to work hard in order to adopt the personality of a teenage Delhiite. He also expressed his happiness that he got to make friends with the girls and boys from Delhi with whom he had to hang out to work on his character. He thanked the director for giving him full freedom saying that Manish left him in Delhi and just asked him to go ahead and become a 'Dilli da munda', which he did.
Well we know how seasoned actors and actresses work on their character and the hard work they put and it is heartening to hear that the newcomers too are following their footsteps in order to put up a good performance!
